Alissa Thaler

Designer & illustrator

Multilingual. Multidisciplinary. Multitalented. That’s our Alissa. But her modesty runs deep, thanks to her humble Tyrolean roots, so she’d probably tell you otherwise.

Equally as adept an animator as a freehand illustrator, she loves blending creative techniques with technology to spark interest, engagement and challenge expectations.

Without a doubt Alissa has one of the most intuitive design minds we’ve encountered — and is collaborative with it, always seeking input and bringing a playful, calm and thoughtful presence to our projects.

From Berlin to Vienna, then Brighton and now Bristol, Alissa has lived, worked and made music in some of Europe’s most creatively exciting places. But her favourite place for picking up tit-bits of inspiration? Museum shops. A goldmine, she insists.

Special power
Her design intuition: an ability to feel as well as think her way to a creative solution.
What makes her happy
Nature. Tyrolean log-fires. Hot-water bottles. Purring cats. Good music. Good food. Even better coffee. Knowing how to make things herself — whether that’s baking bread, recording a song or plastering a wall.
In her own words
I find nature to be the most inspiring thing, because it hits my reset button. It’s kind of like having a blank canvas, giving my brain the space to connect and process all the visual inspiration it absorbs day to day.
