Chris has been a communications strategist and writer for not-for-profits for the best part of two decades. His work in the international development sector has taken him all over the world, where he has encountered extraordinary people, incredible organisations and countless stories of real impact and lasting hope.
Thankfully, he’s not in the least bit jaded with it all and still has energy and passion for authentically communicating sustainable, ethical people-centred work that breaks new ground.
Chris offers a beautiful balance between experience, authority and decisiveness, and a thirst for learning, collaboration and progressive thinking. He has a great sense of adventure and fun and brings positive vibes wherever he works.
Special powers
Chris doesn't really get angry. He did once when he was little – but that's because he couldn't get down from the loft. He knows how to hold tension in healthy ways, sensitively and constructively disagree, and negotiate his way peacefully through big challenges in life and at work.
What makes him happy
Exploring and experiencing new places through his senses, particularly smell. Getting to as much grassroots live music as possible, pretty much any genre. Clever call-backs in stand-up comedy. Looking on proudly as the people he cares about live their best lives.
In his own words
It’s tough out there – the rise of populism and right-wing politics, a post-truth news agenda, the worst parts of social media and the rapid emergence of AI. But I still believe in our potential to bring people together, build communities and be a constructive and credible force in the world.
