Laura Ellen Kennedy

Writer & comms consultant

Starting her career in women’s and teen magazines as a journalist and features editor, Laura found herself drawn to the changemakers among the people she interviewed.

She followed the more cause-driven stories and projects until finally moving into the not-for-profit sector in 2008.

She’s been a writer, editor and creative lead for good causes ever since, running an in-house copy team at an international charity and then branching out to collaborate with a broader range of people working in their many different ways to make the world better.

Laura has a BA Hons degree in Philosophy and the History of Art and has authored two children’s novels.

Special power
It’s all in the crafting and the detail. From exploring how words can be chosen and arranged to evoke different moods and ideas, to getting all the dots and dashes right.
What makes her happy
Walking or running along hilltops and enjoying the view. Family movie nights and plant-based baking. Sunny Sundays lying on the bed with tea and a good book.
In her own words
We all have the power within us to rewrite our stories. When we encourage each other to think differently and express things differently, we can inspire each other to make change happen.
